Characters:
On this page, I have put together the listing of the major characters located in the King of Cavanon and in the sequel - Blood of Heroes, and I’ve done so as to not give away the story. From here, you can ascertain their demeanor and then separate the good guys from the bad.
John Rykus/Adoné
- Race: Human/Cavanonian
- Sex: Male
- Planet of origin: Earth
- Physical features: His features are that of straight brown hair, brown eyes, medium build, not very athletic; a sort of every day appearance.
- Attitude: In the beginning, John Rykus-or Rykus as commonly known- seems to be easy going, focused, but also avoids crowds or crowded situations. He’s an ordinary human being who just likes the comforts of home and the quite there in. However, in another world, the instinct of survival takes over the moment he learns that they aren’t back at home anymore. Fears creep up in both himself and his daughter, but for her he remains strong and in charge.
- Important notes to know about: He also becomes interested in the new species he meets, called “Cavanonians.” Once he becomes one of them, his character undergoes additional changes and is determined and guided with purpose and vision. Black and blue skin, fanged incisors, white sclera eyes that turn red when angered, and long white hair about mid-back length adorn his broad shoulders. In his new character, he stands an impressive 7 feet. He is now a warrior, solid and formidable, more so than before.
Sarah Rykus
- Race: Human/Cavanonian
- Sex: Female
- Planet of origin: Earth
- Physical features: Long curly brown hair, emerald eyes, soft complexion, and very thin: she considers herself in top shape for her age.
- Attitude: A daughter with an easy going attitude, cheerful and of the teenage mentality. Usually has her own agenda. Sarah acts like a typical human teenager, acting cool, a temptress, hard to get.
- Important notes to know about: when she realizes they are not in “Kansas” anymore, she heeds more of her father’s words and warnings, following his lead so to speak, as she is just as new to a change as he is. Later on, once the scare of the new dimension wears off, she decides to take on the new look of the Cavanonians as well. Her eyes change to the white background with dual cat like pupils and their hair had become white as snow. Their skin color had changed to a pale dark blue; resembling Aila and the others.
Tanazakh
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Male
- Planet of origin: Anadon
- Physical features: Tanazakh has very broad shoulders; an estimated height around seven to eight feet high. His skin resembles something seen on a lizard or a Komodo dragon. The fingers of his hands are long and come to a point with fingernails that are cylindrical, and twice the size on his feet. The facial features are hideous; teeth in rows like human, but all sharp and three times their size. His eyes are difficult to imagine: one eye socket with one solid sclera from one side of his face to the other, but two pupils about in the same spot as humans. His face was long and wide at its chin and his head was absent of hair, but in its place appears to be a lanky boned tail coming out the back of his head. The color of skin is dark brown and the female of the species are a lighter brown, almost tan.
- Attitude: Courageous, fearless, daring, brave. After the initial contact with Rykus, Tanazakh becomes more and more interested in a species that has apparent limitations.
- Important notes to know about: He is the first alien to greet and befriend Rykus and his daughter in this new world. Originally hailing from the planet Anadon, this alien and his family are stranded on this new world and learn to carry on with life until a way home is found. Tanazakh becomes a true and best friend to Rykus.
Demon beasts
- Race: alien (a cross of some type of mutated wolf)
- Physical features: A coat of dingy black fur covers them from head to toe and shimmers in the sunlight. They have the body of a wolf that is three times the normal size and menacingly decorated with weapons. Its thick legs and overdeveloped muscles appeared to be strong enough to smash a car to pieces. The head looks as if stretched lengthwise to compliment the extra teeth that protruded up ward from the bottom jaw. The top jaw revealed two huge fangs like a saber tooth tiger.
- Attitude: From its appearance, the fierce predators seemed to have but one nature, to eat.
- Important notes to know about: Through the story, they develop the ability to cloak themselves from their prey, a power engaged by the enemy. They always show up at the weirdest times with only one thing on their minds: attack!
Nogzakhs
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Unknown
- Planet of origin: Unknown
- Physical features: The physical features of a typical Nogzakh creature were dissimilar to the other Dominion beings. Their boney arms extended from their tiny shoulders down to well below the knees and were able to rotate a full three hundred and sixty degrees, without such stoppage as an elbow. The body mass contains barely enough to fill the stomach of any creature that would even care to eat it. Legs that could barely be conceived as strong are mostly lanky and possess only the slightest amount of bioluminescent skin covering, have larger than proportionally correct feet below them. The head is the most peculiar of all. The eyes sit in two huge sockets of blackness containing bite-sized eyeballs that are black in color and absent of cornea. There is no nose to speak of and the mouth is uppermost to their faces just below the eyes, which slightly protrudes outward from an oval shaped cranium that does not contain a shred of hair. Outside of their sleep chambers, they parade around in their normal routine wearing a brilliantly luminous bio-suit that circulates crude like substances, which consist of their systems version of blood.
- Attitude: These guys do not have the nicest disposition as they were created by a race of aliens who were themselves killed off by their creation. The creations made an alliance with a race of the Dominion and together they both serve their ultimate ruler, furthering his goals of universal domination.
- Important notes to know about: Once inside the white machines, all you see are the menacing ground stomping feet and arsenal of weapons that adorn its ovular shaped body.
Aurora
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Female
- Planet of origin: Cavanon
- Physical features: She has the physical features of human beings; her hair is white as snow and drapes down to the middle of her back. Her skin color is smoky black, and dark. Her eyes are the shape of human eyes, but have the pupils of a cat and two per eye. She wears a white sleeveless dress down to the knees, and a weird looking necklace that contains some type of emblem resembling a “C.”
- Attitude: At first, her character is hard to read, but later on through the story, she becomes known as the most trusted servant of the Cavanonian crown.
- Important notes to know about: Strangely encounters the humans while walking along a valley floor, she attempts to hide when she is discovered by Rykus.
Xashsa the Queen
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Female
- Planet of origin: Cavanon
- Physical features: Her hair is silky white and flowing, it sways around softly even though there is not any wind blowing. Her skin is a dark blue and shimmers as she moved, glistening in a hypnotic vision. The eyes are colorless, a bright glowing white as if there is a light illuminating behind them. Her lips were of a dark blue, and her fingernail color matched them; the nails are long, but not overly extending. Her figure is that of an earthly woman and very slender. She wear a white almost see through dress that was low cut to the waist and from the contour of her body, she was very well endowed. The one significant difference that he noticed right away was her teeth, they resemble what he saw in vampire movies, but they are not ugly by any stretch of the imagination. Her height is a bit taller than his was as she was easily over six foot, and he estimated that she has a few more inches on him.
- Attitude: Gracious, generous, loving, wicked, a savage hunter-killer when the time is right; the queen has a large repertoire of traits and attributes to chose from, depending on her mood. She is diligent and persistent when she finds something she wants. She is also sassy and insatiable when it comes to…nocturnal mating rituals.
- Important notes to know about: Stranded on this new world as well, she and her servants take up residence and continue on with life, now knowing why no one from her home planet of Cavanon had not come looking for them. Since passing over the surface of this Earth of the a future time, they were shot down by the enemy and have since remained elusive. While in court, she displays grace and dignity, and her beauty is definitely a sight for any eyes. While carrying on as a monarch, she has to keep her lascivious attitude in check when she finally meets one who would not leave her eyes. Once Rykus is among them, she secretly harbors feelings not easily hidden thereafter. Xashsa’s inner demon is the internal protector of the Queen makes and her presence known the moment Rykus becomes close to the lair. The being had red eyes that slanted upward from the nose and came to a point at its temples. The nose have been either bashed or sucked inward and smelled horribly. The skin was dark, black as night itself but shimmering. The upper incisors had at least six inches in length, and two outside bottom teeth had at least 2 inches of rise. All the other teeth were just plain sharp and erratically arranged. The long distended jaw allowed maximum range of use for the teeth in its one and a half foot bone. The arms were huge and proportional to its size along with the rest of the deranged body. Muscular arms and legs, broad shoulders, claw on feet. Nothing gets to the Queen without her knowing about it.
Aila (A-ee-la)
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Female
- Planet of origin: Cavanon
- Physical features: She is dainty, slender, small shaped and a very small waist. Same appearance as Aurora, but the same height as Sarah.
- Attitude: the Queens’ daughter, she has a calm attitude about her, mixed with the teenage mentality that is apparent in every adolescent being. Still in the learning stages, she takes one day at a time and is in no real hurry to grow up fast.
- Important notes to know about: She is eager to teach Sarah new things and especially those tasks to ensure survival.
Lokcha
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Male
- Planet of origin: Nabalabjam
- Physical features: His physical features are dissimilar from the others, as he appeared to be no more than two feet tall, kind of bony, as if he had not eaten in awhile. His color was gray with a tint of brown on him, a flat face with two eyes, a pencil thin mouth, no nose or hair. In fact, he did not have any hair at all. A horn jutted out from his forehead that curved upward slightly and behind him, a long tail maybe three feet long seemed to move on its own.
- Attitude: They are jittery and very scared of anything that is not of them. However, Lokcha is not as scared as the others are and meets with this new human form (Rykus) one day while not performing his work. His kind are not very outgoing and usually stay underground away from anything larger than they for fear of being dinner.
- Important notes to know about: a little creature of the Nablah tribe, he lives on this new Earth with many of his brethren simply because they, too, were shot down while flying over this planet. Lokcha and his brethren ride on a type of flying board in the shape of what Sarah thought was a skateboard but without wheels. Instead, these boards glided on air and flew at supersonic speeds with ease. The boards themselves flew on energy from light, magnetic fields, and from the energy of the rider. The energy is transformed into the board giving it life and character.
Gadnoc
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Consists of males and females
- Planet of origin: Unknown
- Physical features: Their skin give the impression as if burned in a fire, charred and overcooked. The wolf shaped head showed the wear and tear from possible battle, and a Mohawk hairstyle accentuate the intimidating looks. The ears slanted back and wiggled periodically. An impressive set of teeth lined both his upper and lower jaws, indicating a wicked bite from them would be painful, indeed. Their estimated height is seven feet, and with arms and claws on full display, it would take a lot of strength to tackle this lot.
- Attitude: The Gadnoc mutilate and eat everything and anything that bleeds, regardless of blood color. They feed without care or remorse; they are fearless and will gladly fight in war with anything or anyone just for the sake of war. They are on the side of the Nogzakhs and are cunning and clever, as Rykus finds out.
- Important notes to know about: An ancient race of killers that inhabit the new Earth and work with the Dominion and the Nogzakhs to hunt down anything that escapes the fortress. They pledge their allegiance to the Nogzakhs and the ruler of the fortress, whose name is Federoth.
Laura
- Race: Human
- Sex: Female
- Planet of origin: Earth of the past
- Physical features: She has blonde hair, blue eyes, the prettiest smile ever,
- Attitude: She takes on a weird attitude when it comes to involving her with anyone else other than the watchful eyes of her adopted father. She is a fast and eager learner and pays strict attention to anything that her new father teaches her.
- Important notes to know about: A little girl no more than 4 or 5 years old is rescued from captivity by Rykus. After living in the most abhorrent conditions imaginable, she immediately takes Rykus as her new father. She follows her new father even through a change. She does not fully understand what the change is, but she does it anyway, because Rykus will change, and wants to be like him as well.
Sachom
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Male
- Planet of origin: Unknown
- Physical features: His figure was about average height, with a skinny body, way to skinny for a human, and a long face with a narrow head, resembling that of a wizard’s cap. The figure had no eyes, a flat nose and very small mouth. He was dressed in a bluish-purple robe, but not too bright, worn out and dusty. This new being appeared to be very old, and only he knew his real age.
- Attitude: Mystical, wise, ever knowing, yet elusive and hidden most of the time. He is kind to those who are kind to him. He has hidden talents for an outlet of wrath when called for.
- Important notes to know about: an elusive and mystical being. He lives in the mountains of the Earth living off of the energy of the planet. His family is stranded here from many light years away and without a way to get back, he grows up and becomes the sole survivor of their species. His peaceful days are disturbed the moment he meets this Rykus for the first time, and he finds this changeling human to be quite interesting.
Nylantians
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Consists of males and females
- Planet of origin: Nylantia – a planet covered with water.
- Physical features: Their skin consists of a dark green substance, rubbery in appearance, and shimmered much like a catfish. Their heads were rounding on top but skinny, thin, and with pupils the size of silver dollars. They had gills on their cheeks and a very small mouth, and catfish whiskers extended from their cheeks about two feet. Their height is about 6 feet.
- Attitude: curious, inquisitive, and interested. but when threatened, they are formidable warriors of the deep and fearless in their own right. Anything that comes into their kingdom is scrutinized for possible danger.
- Important notes to know about: Underwater submariners of the Oceans. They live underwater in peace, tranquility, and without care-or knowledge of- the Nogzakhs above the surface of the water. They are at peace in their city of Nylantia, and their king, King Gahnepoc, resides on the throne ruling as a just ruler should. They serve their own purposes in life, that is until Rykus meets them and warns them of a danger topside that could threaten their very existence.
Solisynas (Xashsa’s Father)
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Male
- Planet of origin: Cavanon
- Physical features: Solisynas is a proud 7-foot figure, wearing very different warrior armor, and very large, tall armor plated boots. Facial features were medium face, narrow nose, white sclera eyes, moustache that met with his medium length beard. A wide chin, and shoulder length hair. Metal armbands adorned his armor less forearms. Heavy leather gloves on his large hands.
- Attitude: Generous, reserved; he is a symbol for his race. He finds Rykus and his new race intriguing and immediately befriends the human and his associates.
- Important notes to know about: The last King of Cavanon is subjected to an incident his daughter (Xashsa) is unaware of on the new Earth. He bestows his guidance and leadership on Rykus, providing purpose and direction, to help this new being with the trials that await. He is very understanding and just in his ways.
Kostejaanians
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Consists of males and females
- Planet of origin: Kostejaan
- Physical features: They had the strangest physical features from the others. Their bodies were skeletal, bony, and thinner than anything previously seen before. Their average height was approximately ten feet, they had two legs with toes on the feet that had two forward and one behind, two arms, and hands with two fingers and another flange that might be a thumb. There was almost no chest area at all. The chest area appeared to be nothing more than a shrunken ribcage. Their heads possessed the characteristics of a human head, but smaller, disproportional to their size. The eyes were depressed into the skull and revealed one solid black pupil. They had teeth, but they did not seem to be in any orderly fashion. The exaggerated teeth followed the upward curvature of the jaw in a wicked smile of sorts. The texture of their skin was lightly edematous, blue in color, with blotches of white in random patches.
- Attitude: Curious, elusive, quiet, mild tempered. They don’t like the company of certain races because of reputation.
- Important notes to know about: They were once diplomats on their way to negotiate a peace between the warring systems of the Dolumek and the Nomaseri. Unfortunately for them, their ship was shot down before they could make the trip and were forced to live a new life on this new Earth. With no one else around, for the time being, they lived out their lives in the seclusion of the natural caves hidden in the mountains to the northwest of the enemy stronghold.
Srotaderp
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Consists of males and females
- Planet of origin: Unknown
- Physical features: The creatures were like zombies on acid swaying back on forth as they stood, each one had a short, fat, and stout body, their faces severely distorted and equipped with teeth as large as Tanazakh. The Srotaderps had feral eyes and grungy long hair, and an enhanced natural forward hunch.
- Attitude: the entire race is controlled by one leader who does the thinking for them all. As he is, so they all are as Adoné (Rykus) and Tanazakh discover.
- Important notes to know about: The strange and grotesque mole men were the Srotaderps. They lived naturally underground and had done so before, during, and after the war.
Federoth
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Male
- Planet of origin: Revealing the true nature or planet of origin of this one would really give the story away for those who have not read it yet. Let me just say that this one is not the nicest one around. the Gadnoc work for him.
- Physical features: He is usually dressed in some sort of black robe that drapes off his head all the way to the floor, some shiny black toes of his boots protrude out from underneath. He wears an added black belt around his waist with some sort of buckle that possessed a wavy design, unrecognizable to Rykus. The figure removed his hood and Rykus took his first glance of a grizzly looking creature, he assumed it was a man but with many different features. This being had black eyes, solid, and with no distinguishable cornea or retina. His skin appeared to have been burned or charred, perhaps from a fire, and was dark gray in color. Shoulder length hair boasted of red as did his eyebrows, the dark venous red color, and slick. His lips were black as night and parched.
- Attitude: this one seems to have been born with a vendetta, and for good reason. Just wait until you see what this one has up his sleeve.
- Important notes to know about: He is the leader and commander of the Nogzakh forces/base on the planet of the new Earth.
Othragon
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Unknown
- Planet of origin: Some say the planet of Ellononis, but there is no definite answer, yet.
- Physical features: The intimidating height of Othragon stood twenty feet high from head to toe. His body was that of a lizard with eight legs like a spider, and a head of a dragon with four horns, two up, and two down. He spoke out to Federoth and displayed massive horrifying teeth. The sound of his voice thundered when he spoke, indicating that he was not to be trifled with, by anyone.
- Attitude: Evil, decadent, hellish, and unforgiving…this one breeds death and has a taste for gore. You don’t want to be in his lair when he’s hungry.
- Important notes to know about: The sovereign ruler of the Dominion lives on Muidiri, giving out guidance and orders to his Dominion war arsenal. Orders are constant and unchanging: rid the galaxy of anything that opposes the might of the Dominion.
Cavanon
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Male
- Planet of origin: No doubt on his own home planet of Cavanon.
- Physical features: Ghostly white, shimmering, faint, 8 feet tall, muscular, board shoulders, massive arms and legs, dressed in a white flowing, thick robe with silver streaks eractically arranged from the left shoulder down to his right side, patterns of lightening. White eyes, wide chin, medium nose, no eyes, only empty eye sockets, he didn’t need eyes. But a light did shine out from the sockets when angered. Long silver hair to the mid section..
- Attitude: gentle, caring, just, and proud of those who fight to restore his race. He has but one goal in mind...and it is a secret one at that, until the end of King of Cavanon - Blood of Heroes.
- Important notes to know about: The return of Cavanon is kept secret until the precise time he is needed, although all others are unaware of this fact. To them, it is a prophecy that was foretold and expected, but doubt brings about hesitation and fear as the King believes the prophecy to speak of someone else other than Cavanon.
Dolumek
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Consists of males and females
- Planet of origin: Dolumek.
- Physical features: Each stand at a height slightly shorter than Adoné himself (about 6 feet) and have about the same body mass, but not overweight. Hands with only three fingers and a thumb, two arms, two legs; standard features. Their faces differed though. They are similar to the Nomaseri but have different characteristics. Two black eyes, no nose, and smaller rounded ears adorned the box shape head on its broad shoulders. Outward from the head, and on top, a horn sticks out from top-center of the head curving to the front and downward pointing directly in front of the owner. Males have no hair, but females do have hair but no horn. The two sexes are easily distinguishable from each other not only by body features, but also through their variety of attire.
- Attitude: The Dolumek pretty much keep to themselves and enjoy the sanctity of their underground life, avoiding anything on the surface as their eyes can't take the brightness unless absolutely necessary..
- Important notes to know about: Dwelling deep within the very planet, they live seculsion and in peace, tranquility, and without care-or knowledge of- the Nogzakhs above the surface.
Ellononis
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Unknown
- Planet of origin: Some say his own planet of Ellononis, but not confirmed..
- Physical features: His features were dissimilar and horrifying to anyone other than his faithful servant, who shed tears of pain and agony at his sight. The face of Ellononis is demoniac in nature. Fangs of great length protrude downward from his upper jaw. Five each four-inch fangs stuck upward forty-five degrees from the lower jaw outside of the hanging fangs. Catlike eyes slant upward and downward and run past the two nostril holes, also slanting in the same manner. His earlobes hung down below his jawbone, and the upper much thicker lobes run upward following the curvature of his skull, running past the apex a full twelve inches above him. Ellononis’ body wears a red robe that shimmers and gleams with the ancient symbols of his own invented language embroidered in silver and black thread. The symbols, understood by Othragon, read; Hell is the beginning, and Death is our Father, We are eternal, and so is Ellononis.
- Attitude: This one has but one goal, to bring destruction and death to all. Oh, this one is pure evil incarnate!.
- Important notes to know about: Ellononis only has one faithful servant that eventually knows the hidden agenda of the evil spirit. He sets out to pave the way for the birth of the ill-fated and long awaited prophecy.
Eñala
- Race: Alien
- Sex:Female
- Planet of origin: Nomaseri.
- Physical features: Greenish yellow hair adorns her head in a row from the forehead to the base of her skull, flowing down to mid waist. Slightly bulbous light green eyes protrude faintly from their sockets, giving a strained yet piercing glance. Overly membranous ears shaped as batwings flap effortlessly on both sides of the head and held up sharply when items of importance found their way inside their minds. A slender figure and shapely bosom find their way through sheer makeshift clothing absent over areas of privacy. Delicate hands possessed a thumb and three fingers, with extended nails capable of slicing the meat from a carcass with ease.
- Attitude: A faithful and true servant of the Nomaseri...until she is shorned. She is a scornful vixen with an overactive and insatiable sex drive, her method of physical satisfaction defies the morals of any species in the galaxy. She is faithful when treated right, but once she is given the cold shoulder...look out!.
- Important notes to know about: This alien epitomizes the phrase - Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!
Tnemucodas
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Consists of males and females
- Planet of origin: Tnemucoda.
- Physical features: Their massive bodies possess wings of membranous material and bones and overly proportional legs and arms. Claws adorn their hands and feet with razor sharp nails glisten. Their heads are evil in appearance because of their arched, pointy ears and protruding teeth. The cycloptic eyesight occupies much of the forehead and nose area, barely leaving any room for the nostril holes.
- Attitude: They have been and are loyal to their creator and one time protector. they take on the demeanor of gentle giants, but watch out, fierce fighters are hidden within their humbleness.
- Important notes to know about: The Tnemucodas have been asleep for centuries only to wake up at a time they believe a prophecy is to be fulfilled. Monstrous looking creatures, the are eager to protect the King at all costs!
Irol
- Race: Alien
- Sex: Male
- Planet of origin: Unknown.
- Physical features: Same as regular Nogzakhs.
- Attitude: Irol’s nature is the very same as the other Nogzakh beings in that much of the same physical features are evident, with a slight modification to his attire of course. Since he is the religious figure of their species, he is always dressed in galactic antediluvian garb. Upon his brow sits a pontificate sort of headdress that one would see in such pious figures of exemplary status.
- Important notes to know about: He awaits the return of his god in hopes that the Dominion will rule the universe. He never leaves Samajap and for good reason.
